Wayne Memorial Hospital Installs Digital Radiography Technology To Enhance Image Quality, Deliver Image Access in Seconds
Jesup, GA – Wayne Memorial Hospital converted three X-ray rooms from analog to digital technology to enhance image quality and deliver rapid access to digital X-ray exams. After installing high-resolution Carestream DRX-1 detectors in its X-ray systems, radiology exams can now be captured in less than one minute. The previous analog imaging technology required about 20 minutes to capture and process X-ray images. The new digital image files are higher quality than images from the previous analog systems and can be easily shared with physicians throughout the hospital to expedite patient diagnosis and treatment.
“We invested in new digital imaging technology to equip our staff to deliver a higher standard of care for our patients,” said John McCullough, Diagnostic Imaging Services Director at Wayne Memorial Hospital. “Most importantly, this technology delivers higher quality images that can help provide enhanced diagnostic information. Digital images are also available to physicians throughout the hospital in seconds, which equips physicians with information that can help them deliver a higher level of care,” McCullough adds. “In addition, the new technology has significantly reduced radiation dose for each exam, which was one of our goals.”
Wayne Memorial Hospital, whose mission is to provide high quality health care services to all patients, built a state-of-the-art facility in 2007.
