Hand Crocheted Blanket made by Hospital Volunteer to be Raffled Off Valentine’s Day
Jesup, GA – The volunteers with Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary are offering the public chances to win a large, hand crocheted blanket handmade by volunteer Sandra Shuptrine. The red, white and black chevron-patterned blanket will be raffled off Valentine’s Day. Tickets are being sold in the hospital gift shop now until 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14. One ticket is $2 or three tickets may be purchased for $5. The winner will be contacted after the drawing.
The hospital gift shop, The Care Cove, is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The blanket is on display at the shop, which may be reached at 912.530.3187. The gift shop is one of several areas in the hospital community run by the Auxiliary, a group of volunteers that exists to serve the needs of patients, their families and hospital staff. Last year, the Auxiliary donated 16,878 hours of their time equating to $389,000 in donated labor (per the Independent Sector Organization) in addition to a cash donation of $25,000 for a total contribution of $414,000 to Wayne Memorial.
