Blood Drive Wednesday, June 15 at Wayne Memorial Hospital
UPDATE: Update from the blood drive yesterday – 32 units were collected, a solid number for a summer time drive, when numbers typically dip. Since one pint can save 3 lives, this drive can positively impact as many as 96 lives. We appreciate your helping spread the word about this event beforehand and wanted to communicate the final result.
UPDATE: The Blood Connection is bringing 2 busses. YES, 2 BUSSES to accommodate the appointments and walk-ins for this upcoming 6/15/22 blood drive. That way, folks are in and out faster than last time. And, a $20 e-gift card is given to each donor. Appointments may be made by logging on to thebloodconnection.orgor by calling (864) 751-1154. Thank you for giving the gift of life.
The Blood Connection (TBC), a supplemental blood provider for Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, is holding a blood drive in the hospital parking lot Wednesday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All donors will receive a $20 eGift card from The Blood Connection. The bloodmobile will be located on the right side of the main parking lot, near the cafeteria. To make an appointment to donate blood at this drive, log on to thebloodconnection.org/donate or call (864) 751-1154.
The need for blood never stops so donors are needed to help save lives now. Throughout 2021, TBC saw a steady decrease in blood donations caused by historically low donor turnout. Although TBC is responsible for keeping the blood supply stable, it cannot replicate blood, as it must be donated. TBC urges all eligible donors to donate blood to ensure that hospitals’ needs for blood are uninterrupted.
