Nursing Departments
Medical and Surgical Floors:
The majority of inpatients at Wayne Memorial reside on the fourth floor in spacious, light-filled rooms. The front hallway, closest geographically to First Street , is designated as the Medical Floor, with 28 beds including four Pediatric-specific patient rooms. The Medical Floor also includes a specialized pediatric exam room and a Hospice room with a private family area. The Surgical Floor features 30 beds and caters to individuals who are recovering from a surgical procedure. The Surgical Floor geographically faces a residential/professional neighborhood and has easy access to the staff elevators. SpectraLink Phones are used by the healthcare staff at WMH and provide a direct link between a patient and his/her nurse in which communication is initiated through the bed call button.
Intensive Care Unit:
The 12-bed Intensive Care Unit has the most up-to-date monitoring system available. Physicians have remote access to patient data for easy observation. Individual charting centers neighboring rooms allow nurses and physicians to keep a watchful eye on patients while charting notes.
