New Day, New Baby, New Year

2019’s first baby born to a Wayne County couple at Wayne Memorial Hospital is Emmett Michael Sumrow. Weighing in at 6 pounds and 11 ounces, measuring 19 inches long, Baby Emmett was born January 1 at 8:24 p.m. He is wrapped in a custom-made blanket that his paternal grandmother had made, featuring his father’s Jesup City Police Officer badge and car. Baby Emmett is welcomed home by four siblings and his parents, Miranda and Philip Sumrow. Mr. Sumrow shared they had “a great experience at the hospital.” Attending physicians were Drs. Stanley Jones and Jeffrey Harris.
